Abstract
This work analyzes different alternatives the Spanish legal system may provide for the protection of detailed and current price lists classifiying different types of products that might be exchanged in the market. Occasionally, the periodic and detailed information on price quotes is a relevant input for those firms in charge of organizing and administering the markets and it is legally protectible. Different protection channels are analyzed ranging from Intellectual Property Property Law to Unfair Competition law, although the protection given by regulation of sui generis databases seems to be the most adequate. The relevance of contracts and licenses of use of price lists develop a complementary and effective protective role.
