Abstract

This article discusses the development of and rationale for the accuracy inquiry for guilty pleas in criminal cases. The article proposes that an accuracy inquiry be extended to all felony and misdemeanor guilty pleas in state and federal courts. A standard for the accuracy inquiry is proposed.
