Abstract
The object of study is the rights and duties available in cyberspace and how are these rights and duties protected with special emphasis on European community laws. The scope of study is limited to a general discussion on rights and duties available in cyberspace and why is the protection of rights and duties so important in cyberspace but however our study is restricted here and we will not go in details regarding maters of privacy and copyright. We will examine the European community laws in detail with special emphasis on European convention on cybercrime 2001. Protection of rights and duties are difficult in cyberspace. This is indicated by the increasing number of cybercrimes those are taking place. Moreover, issues such as invasion of right to privacy in cyberspace, infringement of intellectual property rights regarding patent and copyrights are also going up. Therefore there should be stricter protection of rights and this can be only done through proper laws being in force.
