Abstract
This article is a brief historical context for the Supreme Court decision in Locke v. Davey. Separation of Church and State has long been an issue before the Supreme Court and the boundaries of which have been uncertain for just as long. The article addresses several of the Court’s varying decisions on the topic to give a context for the Locke decision.
