Abstract

This paper focuses on major issues of drug discovery and development. Developing a new drug and taking it to market is a long and costly process. The industry focus is shifted toward developing the right drug for the right patient in the shortest time at the least cost. Emerging trend in pharma industry is to outsource clinical trials to emerging markets.
