Abstract

There are states for which difference in IMR estimates from NFHS and SRS is huge. The picture is more revealing when we look at the difference in IMR estimates from NFHS and SRS for girl children only. Such a divergence in the IMR estimates from the NFHS and SRS can create confusion in the government policy areas. There is a need for standardisation of source from which IMR should be calculated.
