Abstract

In this review I discuss what is new in Tariq Ramadan's most recent major book, and address the question of how we should read his works as exercises in persuasion, as much as argumentation, which make subtle tactical choices in when to challenge orthodox sensibilities, and when to leave those challenges implicit.
