Abstract
Dr. John Goldkrand, an expert in maternal-fetal medicine, shared my interest in reducing our colleagues’ misunderstanding of and animus toward each other. We also shared an interest in teaching each other’s students. Both interests prompted us to create an unusual and experimental course, for which we obtained the support of our faculty colleagues and our institutions. Our classes consisted of OB-GYN residents and third-year law students whose course assignments required them to work together and to translate their own professions’ jargon and customs for another audience.
