It has assessed two fundamental raison d'être of the 1990 constitution: Constitutional Monarchy and Multi-party Democracy. It has assessed that both of these raison d'être have been excessively abused and the constitution has been grossly violated. Due to unbounded violations of the constitution the raison d'être of the constitution have almost been frustrated. The root cause for this state, the article assesses the failure of political parties and political leaders to institutionalize the raison d'être of the constitution in Nepalese soil. Therefore, the article concludes that the 1990 constitution had not completed the process of distribution of power and now that has become groundwork for future constitution.
