Abstract
"Hawks," "hard-line Wilsonians," "right-wing Wilsonians," "post-Reaganites," "neo-Reaganites," "neo-Jacobins," "Democratic imperialists," "hegemonists," "neo imperialists," "Jacksonian democrats," "republicans à la Scoop Jackson," each of these denominations refers us to a trend of American political thought generally known as the "Neoconservatism." However, beyond all these sophisticated academic and journalist labels, the questions the interested or curious reader want to see answered are very simple. Who the U.S.' neocons really are? Which is their political idearium? Is it true that their ideas did inspire the foreign policy strategy of the Bush Administration? And if that is so, will they continue to inspire the American foreign policy in the future?.
