Abstract

The foundation of the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia was inspired on the dearest principles of the defense of grower's income. Also to improve the efficient allocation of economic surplus, and to promote welfare and economic growth. With its institutional help and savings the State promoted railways, basic infrastructure roads navigation and ports and hoarding houses. Some relevant political assumptions to promote development were encouraged within upper skeletons of the interest group. Some critical comments are elevated to point out divergent assumptions to orient export generated income that may be regarded as unorthodox foreign exchange rules.
