Abstract
Dr Vittorio Corbo gave the 2008 Richard Snape Lecture, 'Latin America in the Global Economy: Challenges and Opportunities', at the Productivity Commission's office in Melbourne, on 18 November 2008.
Dr Corbo was Governor of the Central Bank of Chile from 2003 until 2007. His previous positions include Head of the Macroeconomic Development and Growth Division, World Bank; Professor, Concordia University, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile; and Professorial Lecturer at Georgetown University. He is currently a Senior Research Associate at the Centro de Estudios Públicos and a member of the Advisory Council of the Chief Economist of the World Bank. In recent years he has been advisor to the World Bank, the IMF and the IDB.
