Abstract
This Op-ed column advocates that newspaper articles on appellate court decisions should identify the judges who decided the appeal. Appellate court judges are elected officials in Michigan, and decide over 3,600 appeals a year. Yet few voters have ever heard of them, because newspaper articles rarely mention their names. Many appellate opinions are not newsworthy. But for those that do merit newspaper coverage, the identity of the judges who decided the appeal should be part of the story.
