Abstract
This short article discusses the apparent resolution between Yale and Peru over the disputed artifacts removed from Machu Picchu by Hiram Bingham in 1911. The article considers how Peru has, in recent years, asserted itself on an international level in the movement to repatriate cultural property to source nations. The article concludes that the ethics-based repatriation movement is still a viable means for source nations to reclaim extant cultural property.
