Abstract
The paper reflects on the application of the prohibitions of anticompetitive practices in the professional services market, dealing specifically with the advertising restraints introduced by the Spanish Bar Association which were considered a violation of the Spanish Competition Act by the Defence Competition Court in 2000. The paper considers the peculiarities of professional services that traditionally have been used to justify limitations to competition and advertising in this market.
