Abstract
Undergraduate students need a rudimentary understanding of the difference between laws, facts, issues of law and issues of fact in order to understand how the legal system works and how it resolves disputes. Legal issues and factual issues, and the role they play is often confusing. This paper introduces the concept of the "legal consequences/value/overall issue" to distinguish the legal and factual issues from the final conclusion of a case or problem. This has proved to make these concepts more easily understood by students.
Note: Many exercises, questions on cases, and keys included. If you would like the exercises in Word, just contact me, I am happy to share. Makes a good reading for undergraduate students.
