Abstract
Public service without term limits undermines the intent of the 1st Amendment to the extent that power forms coalitions more than ideas. Absolute immunity from suit cuts the protections of the 2nd Amendment. Citizens are then at the mercy of inept or malicious actions under color of law, without any acceptable means of self-defense.
