Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze, according with theories about power, organizational changes, organizational capabilities, and the changes generated in the form of go¬vernment of The Rosario University between 1974 and 1995. Starting of the fact that this form of government remained intact for more than three hundred years, it calls the attention how changes in the environment, cha¬racteristics of the organizations and individuals that conform them, can move the organizations to begin processes that may modify their form of govern¬ment, altering the distribution of the power and the roll of the actors in the scheme mentioned. These changes let The Rosario University to confront the exigencies of the environment and to conserve their capacity of governance.
