Abstract
This presentation at the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society’s 2009 annual luncheon highlights the parties and locations involved in Sherwood v. Walker (1887), the state’s most celebrated Contracts case. Dealing with the law of mutual mistake, the case has itself been the subject of several erroneous beliefs. Nevertheless, it remains one of the great contributions to Contracts jurisprudence and law-school lore. Includes pictures of the parties and the historical marker erected by the State Bar of Michigan.
