Abstract

The popular uprising that led to the exile of the Ben Ali/Leila Trebelsi Mafia and ultimately to the breathtaking and disgraceful exit of Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, has put Tunisia on the map of world affairs and given it a hitherto unattained significance. The Revolution offers a unique opportunity for a new democratic government to form and institute policy changes that exploit Tunisia's new found importance and bring prosperity to a nation tired of empty promises of economic development.
