The paper studies Hispanic Child Abuse and Neglect (HCAN) along Border States. The research incorporates mixed quantitatively and qualitative analysis methods of HCAN along the border. The study uses secondary data from a nationally representative sample of child abuse and neglect. The study also includes data analyzed and collected through interviewing, participant observation (ethnography,) and document analysis. The study observed strong relationships among several predictors of Child abuse and neglect for Hispanics in the U.S. including Ethnicity, Percentage of children in household where no language other than English is spoken, geographic location (U.S. Mexico Border States.) Other prediction factors are included in a second quantitative analysis model. Findings point to high Hispanic child abuse and neglect proportions along the U.S. Mexico border due to high Hispanic population density.
