Abstract

Person/place relationships have been studied in geography literature for quite some time. While those relationships are yet to be clearly understood, there has been little analysis on what role quality of life, or well-being, plays in that attachment. This paper analyzes the effect of well-being on one's desire to stay in a neighborhood. This work can be built upon to provide insight as to why development efforts of low-income communities are often met with opposition by residents.
