Abstract

Connecticut is the Constitution State and borders Rhode Island on the east, Massachusetts on the north and New York to the west. Hartford, its capital is the insurance capital of the world, home to Aetna, Travelers, The Hartford and others to numerous to mention. This story is about Connecticut's other precious commodity - its high school basketball and its contribution to the National Basketball Association. This article covers more than basketball, it also emphasizes the values that can be gleaned by participation, such as leadership qualities and how to win and more importantly, how to lose. Moreover, the writer has personal experience participating, in Connecticut high school basketball and is thankful for the opportunity. The reader will see the writer's passion and love of basketball in this extremely well written tribute.
