Abstract

This article focuses on several factors of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU laws. First, it clarifies legal foundations of the EU-Ukraine partnership and their impact on the future of the EU-Ukraine relations. Second, it looks at the content and nature of the adaptation process in Ukraine. Third, it studies the institutional mechanisms of the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU laws. In particular it considers the impact of the national programme on adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to EU laws on the Ukrainian judiciary and draws conclusions on the recent state of approximation of laws in Ukraine and its future challenges
