Abstract

This article (1) reviews the rationale for appellate mediation program; (2) discusses the development and evaluation of a pilot program for the mediation of family appellate cases in Minnesota; and (3) discusses the elements of program design most likely to make appellate mediation programs successful. Specific attention is given to ensuring that substantive and procedural justice are achieved in appellate mediation programs.
