Abstract

This short article (in French) explores the relations between EU competition law and environmental protection and discusses examples of confrontation, convergence and conciliation between the objectives underlying these two fields. In that regard, it highlights the importance of the principle of proportionality to accomodate those objectives and asks to what extent economic and environmental efficiency are not, in effect, converging factors so that competition law and environmental law could actually emerge as "improbable friends".
