Abstract
The purpose of this document is to respond to selected questions forcomment on the proposed framework in the FTC report “ProtectingConsumer Privacy in an Era of Rapid Change: A Proposed Framework for Businesses and Policymakers” (December 1st, 2010). Our responses are based on our ongoing research about online privacy and data risk at NYU Stern School’s Center for Digital Economy Research. Our findings are described further in Dhar, Hsieh and Sundararajan (2011).
