Abstract

In light of the political and economic progress black people have made in the past twenty five years, could belief in linked fate amongst middle-aged and young adults differ from the belief in linked fate trends amongst middle-aged and young adults used in Dawson’s study? Do young black adults believe that their future is linked to the future of the race? How do location, age, education, and other variables influence or discourage belief in linked fate? I plan to use the 2004 National Politics Survey to conduct my analysis.

Keywords: public opinion, linked fate
