Abstract
Usus Legis is a doctrine that recognizes the multiple uses of law. One use of law, the theological use, governs and reforms man in relation to his own sin. The civic use of law governs man in his relationships with others. This article discusses the functions of the different uses of law and the implications of the doctrine of usus legis in contemporary legal jurisprudence.
