Abstract

The paper aims to identify some case history (Bank Dagang Bali, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Badan Kredit Desa, Grameen Bank in Bangladesh) to better understand the financial sustainability of microfinance projects. Microfinance has evolved as an economic development approach intended to benefit low-income people. Sustainable microfinance models demonstrate that formal institutions can deliver services profitably at the local level.
