Abstract

This essay explores the claim that a perfect library wouldn’t need reference service because the perfect catalog would enable researchers to find what they need. I argue that differences in individuals’ experience, skills, and interest will still make reference important and efficient.

Keywords: law librarianship, libraries, reference, user behavior, information seeking
