Abstract
This article examines the processes of territorialization Hispanic in the province of Antioquia (New Granada) in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. The central hypothesis revolves around the proposal on the role of urban centers as articulating elements in the construction of the territory and as indicators of effective control.
