Abstract

This paper uses the Panzar-Rosse (PR) methodology to measure bank competition in the European Union banking sector and in some developed and developing countries. We apply the method for the time period 2000 to 2008. Our findings indicate that monopolistic competition existed in most of the countries under consideration.
