Abstract

The law is fairly straightforward when someone wilfully torches his or her house with the aim of cashing in on the fire insurance policy: Sorry, you can't collect. But it gets a little tricky when the wrong-doing affects innocent third parties.

Keywords: insurance, criminal forfeiture, unintended losses
