Abstract
The need to change the labor legislation has been determined by that the old regulations no longer met the economic and social realities of Romania and also was taken in agreement with the IMF. The new Labor Code seeks flexible working relationships and stimulating business environment, while protecting employees. The objective of this paper is to present the main changes in the new Romanian labor code and also to make a comparison with other work systems in Europe.
