Abstract

The origin of crime and punishment is since the origin of human being. By the lapse of time it has taken many forms. It has been in all the societies at all times. There were punishments before Islam and there are punishments after the advent of Islam. This study has been conducted to see the similarities and dissimilarities in Islamic and non-Islamic punishments, the later are termed as Western, though both may be in any part of the world.
