Abstract

Professor Linda A. Malone explores the issues of political influence in science in this article. Scientists are not immune to pressure due to funding demands and celebrity status. Specific examples of scientists falling to the pressure can be shown by standards for mercury emissions, standards for greenhouse gases, and snowmobile use in Yellowstone.
