Abstract

I use the core principle of fantasy sports -- the draft -- to teach about the US presidency. Students are placed into four teams, which alternate choosing presidents for their ten-man "roster." After the draft, separate presidential experts rank the teams 1-4 on a different dimension. The team with the highest combination of expert rankings wins. In the end, Fantasy Presidents provides a fun way to encourage students to do research on the American presidency and American political development.
