Abstract

There are increasing levels of concern in many countries about the threat posed by organized crime in politics. This analysis considers some of the issues associated with the political influence of organized crime in terms of its capacity to not only infiltrate and manipulate political processes and structures, but also to inhibit the ability of law enforcement agencies to counter such developments.
