Abstract

This article discusses using cognitive psychology to design a legal policy clinic for the purpose of increasing student ownership in clinic assignments by: (1) enabling students to select their projects according to their own definitions of social justice; (2) enabling students to focus on their chosen substantive interests; and (3) increasing the possibility of students' persistence in engaging in pro bono activities post law school graduation.
