NEXTGENIT (A Mini Case Study for Analyzing Business Issues at 3 Levels)

Abstract

This case study highlights the importance of planning before starting any business. Entrepreneurs are very optimistic and do not evaluate all the factors before starting the venture. After sometime the realization hits hard. By that time lot of money, effort and emotions have already gone in to business. Mr. Jayant Verma has started a Data editing business under his new venture NEXTGENIT. He is not able to make profits and meeting expenses with difficulty for last one year. The challenge is to improve the profitability in this business. There are three levels of looking at the present situation faced by Mr. Jayant Verma. In the level one, one can try to find the solutions to the issues faced by him. In the level two one can gather more data to find out how this situation has arisen at the first place. In the level three we can ask the fundamental question on why he needs to continue business under present circumstances?
