Abstract

The visual markers can be viewed as an intuitive input device. In the Augmented Reality (AR) they are often used for interaction with the AR application, for example to add a virtual object to an existing virtual or real scene. In this article we show how one can modify the visual markers so that they can be used to specify the location of a new object in respect to already existing objects in the virtual scene, e.g. to align the new object with the already existing ones. To be able to determine the position of the new object in space first the bounds of the neighboring objects have to be determined for which task bounding boxes are used.
