Abstract

Even though the water baptism is unanimous accepted in all religious denominations as an act which offers the quality of a church member, however, not every church officiates it in the same manner. Because is accepted by all the religious denominations, we can ask if a religious group accepts the baptism officiated by another religious group and in what conditions this thing may happen. Or, which churches accept the baptism officiated by churches with a different doctrine? Which are the immediate connotations of the baby’s baptism and of the adult’s baptism? What does imply the baby’s baptism and the adult’s baptism? These are the questions to whom this study wants to response, analyzing how the Orthodox Church, the Catholic Church, The Protestant Church and the Evangelical Church (especially those from the Carpato-Danubiano-Pontic space) recognize the baptism.

Keywords: water baptism, membership in a Church, infants baptism, adult baptism, recognize baptism in different denominations
