Abstract

How public policies have approached persons with disabilities has altered from almost criminalising difference to promoting equality. This presentation analyses how the different governing public policy paradigm has shifted from the ugly law model, the medical model, social model and finally to the human rights paradigm under the CRPD. This paper considers how the CRPD and human rights paradigm can be associated with positive legal developments around inclusive design.
