Abstract
In empiricist epistemology, the effects of stimulation registered as ideas in the memory give rise to reasoned judgments guiding our behaviour. In Cartesian ontology, mind is not an epiphenomenon of materials, but a distinct substance. In Hegelian thought, it is something spiritual. In anyway, it is unarguable that consciousness “is” something - whether if it exists as anything material or nonphysical is from where the debate begun, and it is here where it is destined to end.
