Abstract

This article considers a range of topics relating to Shari'ah-compliant investment banking activities under the Islamic Banking Regulatory Framework of the Central Bank of the Sultanate of Oman. The article discusses the seven tiers of investment banking activities under the Framework and provisions relating to investor protection, capital, financial ratios, prohibited activities, approvals to be obtained from the Capital Markets Authority.
