Abstract

I would like to comment on just one point in Todd Landman’s thoughtful review of Making Political Science Matter (Landman 2008). This is Landman’s regret that Making Political Science Matter contains only two examples that demonstrate the utility of phronetic social science as practical research, namely Corey Shdaimah and Roland Stahl’s case study of the Women’s Community Revitalization Project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (ch. 5), and partly my own case study of urban politics and planning in the city of Aalborg, Denmark (ch. 3). In my judgement, Landman here puts his finger on exactly the area where phronetic social science is most in need of further development.
