Abstract
This article critically examines the premises of the shareholder-stakeholder debate. It does so examining the four basic questions of corporate governance "who, what, how and in whose interests" should the corporation be governed. It argues that the stakeholder approach not only is more coherence, but more accurately reflects practice.
