Abstract

This article is a theoretical analysis of various pharmaceutical systems in Europe, and try to draw conclusions about the advantages and disadvantages of each system. The mechanisms by which they are generated and allocated funds in European health systems are extremely complex and vary from country to country. In European Union all governments are involved in financing health care, most Member States use a combination between social security contributions and direct government funding of health. As regards the private insurance, these represent a supplement rather than a substitute for primary health system. European Pharmacy Charter militates for ethical model of pharmacies open circuit and it is a reference document for both EU Member States and the candidate countries for EU accession.
