Abstract

William Twining thinks that analytic legal philosophers need to pay closer attention to the sociological contexts of law. In this article, I explain that at least some analytic philosophers have already been doing that. These "Philosophical naturalists" are ahead of Twining in rethinking the relationship between concepts and contexts. I detail how this is being done and describe the implications for legal theory.

Keywords: jurisprudence, legal theory
